Inside Mount Blinds
For windows with deep frames:
- For an inside mount, first start by measuring the width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement for the best fit.
Find the size with the width closest to your measurement; this will be the width you order, as the blind will come to you with a half-inch deduction to allow for inside mounting.
- Next, measure the height of the window opening at the left, middle, and right of the inside of the window frame. Record the longest measurement; this will be the height to order.
-
Outside Mount Blinds
For windows with shallow frames or to hide window frames:
- For an outside mount, this will be measured a bit differently. First, measure the width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom from outside edge to outside edge. Record the widest measurement of the surface that you would like to cover.
Depending on where you are mounting the blind, you will want to add at least a minimum of one half inch to your measurement.
- Then, measure the height of the window opening at the left, middle, and right. Record the longest measurement; this will be the height to order.
- If you are mounting above a window frame, you will need to add two to four inches to the height.
*Lotus supplies products in increments of whole and half-inch measurements. Be sure to order the available stock size closest to your measurement.*
If the size you recorded is not a stock size, a blind longer than your recorded measurement will work as the blind can be stopped at any position within the window frame.
